Publication Ethics

Intellectia: Interactive Journal of English Education and Teaching Innovations is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by CV Alma Media Intellectia, Indonesia. The journal is dedicated to advancing theoretical and empirical research in English language teaching, interactive learning innovations, literature, and linguistics.

The publication of an article in Intellectia is an essential building block in the development of a respected network of knowledge. It directly reflects the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the publication process: authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher.

DUTIES OF AUTHORS

  • Reporting Standards: Authors must present original manuscripts that have not been published elsewhere or concurrently submitted to another journal. Authors should provide an accurate account of the research performed and an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data must be represented accurately in the manuscript.

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works. If authors have used the work and/or words of others, these must be appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

  • Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is unethical and unacceptable.

  • Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All significant contributors must be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author must ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included, that no inappropriate co-authors are listed, and that all co-authors have approved the final version of the paper and agreed to its submission.

  • Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide raw research data in connection with a paper for editorial review. Authors should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.

  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors must disclose any financial or substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project must be explicitly disclosed.

  • Fundamental Errors in Published Works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, it is the author's obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.

DUTIES OF EDITORS

  • Publication Decisions: The editors of Intellectia: Interactive Journal of English Education and Teaching Innovations are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. Decisions are driven by the validation of the work and its importance to researchers and readers. The editors are guided by the policies of the editorial board and constrained by legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.

  • Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

  • Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

     

     

  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communications with the author, may also assist the author in improving the manuscript.

  • Promptness: Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.

  • Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

  • Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. A reviewer should also call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

  • Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers must not evaluate manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions connected to the papers.

DUTIES OF THE PUBLISHER

  • Editorial Independence: CV Alma Media Intellectia is committed to ensuring that commercial interests, journal indexing goals, or financial factors have no impact or influence on editorial decisions. The editor-in-chief and editorial board retain full authority and independence in selecting manuscripts based solely on academic quality, relevance, and ethical compliance.

  • Ethical Safeguards & Corrections: CV Alma Media Intellectia, in close collaboration with the editors of Intellectia: Interactive Journal of English Education and Teaching Innovations, works to set and maintain high standards of best publication practices. The publisher is dedicated to assisting in publishing corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies whenever necessary, and is prepared to provide legal review and counsel to safeguard the integrity of the journal's content.

  • Archiving and Preservation: The publisher ensures the long-term preservation of and perpetual access to published articles through digital archiving systems and open-access infrastructure.
