Peer Review Process

Peer review is a critical system used to assess the quality, validity, and significance of a manuscript before it is published. Independent experts in the relevant field evaluate submitted manuscripts to assist the editors in determining whether the manuscript meets the standards for publication in the journal.

Review System

Intellectia: Interactive Journal of English Education and Teaching Innovations operates a double-blind peer-reviewsystem. Under this system:

  • The identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept strictly anonymous throughout the review process.

  • Author details (names, affiliations, and acknowledgments) must be removed from the main manuscript file prior to submission to ensure unbiased evaluation.

Evaluation Criteria

The publication of research articles in Intellectia depends primarily on their academic rigor, methodological soundess, and coherence. External expert reviewers and editors evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and Novelty: The manuscript provides new insights, innovative practices, or unique perspectives in English language teaching, learning innovations, literature, or linguistics.

  • Scientific Validity: The methodology, research design, data collection, and analysis are rigorous and appropriate.

  • Clarity and Quality of Writing: The text is clear, well-structured, comprehensible, and meets scholarly writing standards.

  • Contribution to the Field: The work represents a useful and valuable contribution to educational research and practice.

Review Procedure & Decision Making

  1. Initial Screening: Every submitted manuscript undergoes a preliminary editorial check for scope alignment, formatting compliance, plagiarism check, and ethical requirements.

  2. Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the manuscript's topic area.

  3. Reviewer Assessment: Reviewers evaluate whether the research is sound, free of duplication with previously published works, logically structured, and clearly presented.

  4. Editorial Decision: Based on the detailed reports and recommendations provided by the reviewers, the Editor-in-Chief / Handling Editor makes the final decision, which may include:

    • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted without changes.

    • Revisions Required: The manuscript requires minor revisions before acceptance.

    • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires major revisions and must undergo a second round of peer review.

    • Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected due to significant flaws or lack of fit with the journal's scope.

Where necessary, editors may consult additional members of the Editorial Board to resolve conflicting reviewer evaluations.
